Darla's Gourmet Kitchen was created out of my love for cooking and having my family and friends over for food, fellowship and fun.   

 

I dedicate my catering business to my beloved mother - 

Elaine Marjorie Johnson (pictured here).   She went to heaven on April 3rd of 2020.   My Momma (and Daddy)  taught me how to cook and instilled in me a LOVE for cooking.  They taught me to love GOD and to honor HIM in all that I do.  I am the woman that I am today because of them both.  I miss them dearly.   I know they are with me in spirit and Mom watches me create the scrumptious dishes she taught me how to make.  I feel her beautiful presence everyday.

 

Over the years I've perfected a lot of wonderful recipes and I've had friends and family tell me I should consider catering. 

 

In December of 2008 a good friend of the family asked me to cater an appreciation dinner. We agreed on the menu and of course a price and I went to work.  I really enjoyed preparing and serving the food. Her guests were very complimentary of the food and thanked me over and over. I felt a great sense of accomplishment. 

 

 I truly believe that we are all blessed with  special gifts and I know that one of my gifts is cooking. GOD is just good like that. I give HIM all the glory for the gifts HE has bestowed upon me and thru my Mom. 

 

After some deep thought and continued prayer I created a menu of the things I enjoy cooking that have received rave reviews.
